Professor John Stackhouse is an award-winning scholar, educator, and public communicator. He specializes in explaining contemporary culture to Christians and explaining Christianity to contemporary people around the world.  

John has authored or co-authored more than a dozen books. His recent books include Can I Believe? Christianity for the Hesitant and Evangelicalism: A Very Short Introduction, from the Oxford University Press.  

For six Sundays, beginning Sunday, October 16th, Dr. Stackhouse will be the guest preacher at St. George’s at the 10am Holy Eucharist. He will be speaking about “Good, Hard Choices: Following Jesus in Canada Today.”  

From 9:15 to 9:45 each Sunday morning in the Church Hall, beginning October 16th, he will lead an adult Sunday School class titled “Whatever Happened to Christian Canada?” This lecture series will help us understand the huge changes in Canadian culture since the 1960s.
